A leaf spring center bolt is a critical part of your suspension system. It not only holds the leaf spring pack together, but the round center bolt head is designed to seat properly in the axle seat or block seat to maintain correct axle alignment

Suspension Tracking & Alignment

Center bolts, along with the stationary spring eye bolts, play a key role in determining vehicle tracking (driving straight). Improperly functioning center bolts or related components can cause the rear axle to shift forward or backward.

If you feel or visually notice that your rear axle is not positioned correctly, inspect for:

• Broken main leaf spring eyes
• Loose U-bolts
• Bent or broken center bolts

When replacing bent or broken center bolts, it is recommended to replace your U-bolts as well.
